Bye bye Larry Summers

Larry Summers has decided (or been forced) to step down as the President of Harvard University. I'm glad to see that my alma mater has finally freed itself of this guy. I have nothing against Larry personally, but he obviously didn't have the right temperment to run a university -- at least not Harvard. He was highly opinionated and tried to force his opinions on the university rather than to lead and persuade people to find a concensus. He ended up with few allies on the faculty and many, many enemies. And, during his tenure, I think the school's standing has declined significantly.

I 'd be happy to have him back in his former job as Secretary of the Treasury.
