Iraq and Pol Pot: Connecting Dots

With the threat of civil war in the country the U.S. invaded never more ominous than now, isn't it time to reflect on the days of American bombing and incursions into Cambodia during the Vietnam War -- followed in time, arguably as a matter of cause-and-effect, by the "Killing Fields"?

Will these people ever learn a lesson from history? Our military presence sometimes has been a good thing. Sometimes, however, where it may be impossible for any participant cooperating with us to achieve legitimacy with the population, we can only make it worse.
