A whole new justification for the war in Iraq
The new justification for the war in Iraq is not to bring peace and prosperity to Iraq, but to show our resolve, thereby deterring Iran and others from transgressions. From the National Review's Kurtz:
Yeah, that's working really well too, isn't it? That's why Iran has completely set aside its nuclear aspirations.
We need to see peace and democracy in Iraq is icing on the cake. The real goal is the proof of resolve against Iran and others. If the public sees that, it might change its view of what’s important and what success means.
