I don't get it
I fail to understand why the Congressional Black Caucus is defending Jefferson against Nancy Pelosi, who wants him to step down from the Ways and Means committee. After all, this has nothing to do with Jefferson's race. It has to do with the fact that, by all accounts, he has taken large bribes and is corrupt. Even if he hasn't, that's certainly the impression the public has of him now, and it's enabling the Thuglicans to say the corruption isn't just on their side of the aisle. Why support corruption and destroy your own party? I just don't get it.
My knee jerk reaction to this is that they're defending him because they've done the same things themselves, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that reaction. If it's true, it's time to get rid of all of them. If not, they should stand up for what's right, and, if they can't do that, we should get rid of all of them for that reason.
