The same lame excuse, over and over

Hey, does this sound familiar?

But the vice president did say that he underestimated the strength of the insurgency in some of his earlier remarks.

"I don't think anybody anticipated the level of violence that we've encountered," Cheney said. (June 19, 2006)

Just to refresh your memory:

"I don't think anybody could have predicted that these people would take an airplane and slam it into the World Trade Center." Condoleezza Rice (May 16, 2002)
"I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees. They did anticipate a serious storm. But these levees got breached. And as a result, much of New Orleans is flooded. And now we are having to deal with it and will." George W. Bush, (September 1, 2005)
