Bush the all powerful

Glenn Greenwald makes the case in his post today that Bush may well believe that he has Constitutional authority to attack Iran without Congressional approval or even in the face of Congressional disapproval.

Question: If Bush attacked Iran after Congress refused to give him permission, would the idiots in Congress have the gumption to impeach and convict him?

Answer: No.

Of course, what's actually going to take place is that Bush will trump up a "Gulf of Tonkin" type confrontation with Iran and then attack them without seeking Congressional approval. When confronted with a fait accomplis and US troops at risk, Congress will go along like the lap dogs they are. But, if you think Iraq is a disaster, just wait for Iran.
