Last resort claim

Per Tom Peters, the last claim a company wants to make is "we're no worse than anyone else." Here's the political analogy: Democrats would not have gotten our young soldiers in the middle of a sectarian civil war. They wouldn't be undermining our civil liberties in the name of security. And they wouldn't have turned a budget surplus in 2000 into the huge deficit we have today. Democrats have a history of being a bit disorganized, as in they don't all march in lock step.
