NY Times and others covered up early stories of torture
This story from the Columbia Journalism Review about how the NY Times and other papers covered up stories of torture during the early days of the war is too long to summarize. It's a fascinating (and disgusting) read about how they pushed Judy Miller to the front page to regurgitate administration platitudes while phoo-phooing stories of the murder and torture of war prisoners.
