President once again ignores the advice of his military experts

Democrats opposing President Bush on the “torture amendment” in the Specter bill have a ready-made talking point that’s been handed to them by the JAG testimony the other day:

The military experts have spoken out against these provisions powerfully. Once again, President Bush is refusing to listen to his military experts, just as he refused to listen when they told him the problems he would find if he invaded Iraq. The President’s very public permissiveness towards torture is losing us allies in the war on terror, and will put American soldiers at risk of retaliation.
