A rash of bumbling idiots

I'm sure Bush will try to use the successful defense against today's attack on the US embassy in Syria to his political advantage, but it looks to me as though the success had nothing whatever to do with Bush. It was the Syrians themselves who successfully protected the embassy. And, the attackers appear to have been bumbling fools. I mean, this attack had no chance whatsoever of succeeding. Four guys with a grenade and a few guns against an army of Syrian defenders protecting one of the most well-defended embassies around?

Which brings us to the question of why there have been so many recent "threats" from bumbling fools? I'm including the idiot who wanted to destroy the Brooklyn Bridge with a blow torch, the kids in Miami who didn't even know what they wanted to do, Jose Padilla who reportedly thought he could enrich uranium by swinging a bucket of it over his head, and the nuts in Britain who thought they could mix up liquid bombs after they boarded airplanes (a virtual impossibility). Is it just because Bush brings the crazies out of the woodwork?
