Condi gets one pass and one fail
I'm going to give Condi Rice one pass before I fail her. I believe her when she says she doesn't remember anything about the July 10, 2001 meeting with George Tenet and J. Cofer Black. After all, she didn't think swatting al Qaeda flies was important. Why, after all, would you remember an unimportant meeting? Woodward's account says she blew Tenet and Black off.
Of course, this just further proves what Bill Clinton said the other day. He tried and failed to get Bin Laden. Bush and Rice had eight months and failed to try.
If you thought the al Qaeda threat was so insignificant that you don't even remember a "hair on fire" meeting about it, it stands to reason you wouldn't try to do anything about it.
So, the pass proves the fail.

The fact that the meeting took place on that day has been confirmed.
