Shining a light on the "independent Republican" sham

This is an extremely important note on the “Unclaimed Territory” site. It’s what we all have sensed but have not quite established into meaningful words: that today, the very concept of an “independent Republican” is a total sham, an oxymoron. The McCains, Hagels, Snowes, Specters and Warners, not to speak of many Republican Representatives, are given some leash by Karl to posture for the inattentive moderates among their particular constituencies. But in the end they are just as partisan as the most right-wing Republicans on the issues that really define the direction the country is taking.
