Clueless

As H. L. Mencken said, you can't underestimate the intelligence of the American people:

Gary Konicki tunes out the political ads and posters. Politicians, reckons the 23-year-old Auburn man, will do whatever they want.

So why bother?

"I really don't follow it too, too much," Konicki replied, when asked about the TABOR referendum and the races for U.S. Senate, governor and City Council.

"To be honest, I don't have a clue," he said, unaware that an Auburn woman, Olympia Snowe, is vying for re-election to the Senate.

He isn't alone.
