McCain bashing gays

It's amazing what trying to run for high political office as a Republican does to you. Saint McCain who has been pandering to the religious right for months is now out there bashing gays:

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., a likely 2008 presidential aspirant, is starring in two new television spots for Proposition 107, a proposed state constitutional amendment that would ensure that same-sex marriages or civil unions are never legal in Arizona and ban governments, such as cities or towns or universities, from providing benefits to unmarried domestic partners. Click here to watch the two commercials now airing in the Phoenix metropolitan TV market.

Arizona, of course, is a bastion of libertarians who want the government to stay out of their bedrooms. Recent polling shows that by 56 to 30 percent the State plans to vote "no" to Proposition 107.

Then obviously he is a maverick if he's going against his own majority. What integrity!

Remembering your earlier post, WallDon, do you think the good Senator is maybe a little, you know. . . ? Not that there's anything wrong with that!

The best news for gays out of a lot of this may be that maybe the public will start to get tired of trying to control them, yes?
