Economic Insecurity

It appears the Congressional Budget Office has been hard at work. In the previous post, I had reference to their estimate of the number of troops involved in the "surge." In another report released today, they examine the risks of jobloss in today's economy. Kevin Drum has the details, which show that while unemployment rates remain within a rather consistent pattern, the number of people experiencing long-term unemployment has been increasing rather steadily. And, the salary drop on regaining employment has been increasing. So, it's no wonder that people fear losing their jobs more now than in the past.
