Mystified

Quite a surprise. The Justice Department said it would not seek to stand in the way of Congress granting use immunity to Monica Goodling, despite the fact that they are investigating her for politicizing the hiring process. I had assumed that they had started the investigation solely for the purpose of denying her testimony to Congress and that they intended to stall the investigation after that. Do you suppose they thought the outcry would be too great if they stonewalled? Somehow, I doubt it. Nobody in this administration has ever been afraid to stonewall before.

I'm mystified.
