Media drops ball again

As John Aravosis points out, the media dropped the ball one more time at Bush's press conference today. Nobody asked him why he lied to the American public about the threat from Iran when he had already known about the NIE two months earlier.

I think I heard David Gregory more or less ask that -- couched in terms of what it does to American credibility -- and his response was that he had only seen it last week. However, there was something to the effect that he had heard about it earlier, but that it hadn't been confirmed yet. Should a President be dropping warnings about World War III when -- if this is what he was revealing -- he knows that the current but not yet solidified intelligence community opinion is that the justification for such a war simply does not exist?
