Who says the oil lobby is without conscience?

This one you've got to see to believe. The “Think Progress” blog (courtesy of a Washington Monthly link) reports on a botched PR effort by the American Petroleum Institute to build sympathy for industry employees who allegedly would be hurt by clean energy environmental legislation. A picture in API pamphlet showing the “hard working Americans” who will lose their jobs – presumably oil industry employees -- turns out to have been a stock photo from iStockPhoto.com. Better than that, though, is that the API apparently thought the photo was inadequate in the diversity of those employees. Accordingly, they Photoshopped an Asian face onto one white person, and put an African-American face on another. Problem is, whoever was doing the editing neglected to change the “black” guy's white hands!

Integrity is a great thing to see!
