Long Vacation for the House
Josh Marshall notes that Hastert and Blunt have decided to postpone the re-opening of the House after the Christmas break for several weeks until January 31, to give DeLay more time to get his legal problems in Texas sorted out before anyone can call for a leadership election to replace him.
So, do we still have to pay them their salaries if they aren't at work? Of course. Gee, that's not a bad idea. Maybe we can get them to take a three year paid vacation. Doing nothing would sure be better than what they have been doing.
