Alito's dad

Sam Alito spent a good deal of time yesterday once again relating the story of his "immigrant father." The continuing recitation of this story is an obvious attempt to gain sympathy for Alito.

As I pointed out back on December 6, someone looked up dad Alito's military service record, which shows that he was born in New Jersey. That doesn't sound very immigrant-like to me. Of course, maybe he lied about his birthplace on his military application form.

And, why hasn't anyone in the press picked this up?
