Dumber and Dumber

John Avarosis, over at Americablog, has just informed us that the Democrats are trying to shoot themselves in the foot one more time. Nancy Pelosi has just named James Clyburn (D-SC) to head up the new Democratic effort to clean up ethics in the House. Here's what NPR says about Clyburn:

Clyburn, however, had been connected to the very lobbyist around whom Democrats are building their "clean up Congress" campaign - Jack Abramoff. In 1997, Abramoff paid for a trip costing more than $10,000 that Clyburn took to the Northern Mariana Islands in the Pacific Ocean. (Roll Call, 5/5/05)

He's the only Dem in the House who has a serious problem with being involved with Abramoff, and Pelosi picks him as the point person in the ethics scandal. Jeese. That just plays right in to the Republican playbook - yup, it's all a bi-partisan scandal.
