The Estate Tax & the Chosen Few

Tired of hearing or thinking about Big Oil and windfall profits? How about this?

According to a diary at DKos,

Public Citizen has released a report (warning pdf file) detailing how "18 families worth a total of $185.5 billion have financed and coordinated a 10-year effort to repeal the estate tax, a move that would collectively net them a windfall of $71.6 billion."

Start with the estate of Sam Walton, and work outwards. Glad somebody is trying to protect those family farmers, aren't you?

We totally need to punish the rich and give their money to the government.

Just take all the riches of the wealthiest 10%, what the government could do! Then the next 10%, the government could do even more. Why not punish those who have done well?

Communism is not that bad of an idea, eh?
