Immigration reform dead
The "compromise" immigration bill failed in the Senate, probably killing immigration "reform" for this session of Congress. On the theory that the first rule of medicine legislation is to do no harm, good riddance. This was a crappy compromise that would have been compromised further in the House-Senate conference. I'm shedding no tears.

Interesting news. I had seen a Slate column by Joseph Weinberg the other day (http://www.slate.com//id/2139367/) on the benefit of this very outcome.
