Republican science

Now that the FDA has arbitrarily determined by fiat there is no evidence that marijuana has any medical purpose, despite a thorough study by the National Academy of Sciences concluding the opposite, what else shall we have the government declare? That the earth is flat? Oops, I guess Tom Friedman already did that. Perhaps they could declare that there is no evidence supporting the theory of evolution.

It sure makes doing science a lot easier, doesn't it. You don't actually have to conduct any experiments or look at any data. You just declare. I'll go apply for my Ph.D. in physics today.
