The war to end journalism

The White House is clearly engaged in an all out effort to shut down what little remains of real journalism. Today, we learn that the FBI is trying to get access to deceased journalist Jack Anderson's papers in order to remove "classified documents" that were leaked to him. For god sakes, the man died in 1983 and hadn't worked for 15 years before that. Even if there are "classified documents" among his papers, it's highly unlikely they have any relevance to national security at this point.

Meanwhile, the CIA has removed troves of documents from the National Archives that had been declassified and released to the public years earlier. And, the case against the NY Times reporters who published the NSA spying story is being pursued with a vengence.
