Authorized to lie

Think Progress makes a good point. Apparently, the President has signed an executive order authorizing companies to lie without running afowl of the SEC if the Director of Homeland Security authorizes them to do so for national security reasons. One more possible explanation for the denials by Bellsouth and Verizon.
