Rumsfeld called out

Rumsfeld got called out by a questioner (a CIA agent, as it turns out) at an Atlanta speech he was giving. The questioner asked him why he had lied about WMD.

The questioner was absolutely right. He had Rumsfeld's quote word for word, as you can see at Crooks and Liars (and other places on the net). Rumsfeld denied it.

Unfortunately, the bulk of the audience sided with Rumsfeld and wanted the questioner bodily evicted. Probably some though he should be lynched on the spot. And, I suspect, most of the American public feel the same way, just as they probably did with the Colbert thing (which, of course) most have not heard of. No one reported it.

Most Americans don't like their officials being publicly embarassed, no matter how much they might deserve it.

So, I'm not sure how I feel about this. We certainly have to stop these guys, but publicly confronting them may backfire on us.
