Kansas Politics

Hounddog has been having trouble get logged into Blogger, so he asked me to post this:

Former state GOP chief Mark Parkinson switched to the Democratic Party and joined the ticket of democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

Parkinson has served as chairman of the state Republican Party. He said he was increasingly alienated from his own party after conservatives increasingly focused on “wedge issues” rather than solutions to the state’s problems.

Without raising taxes Sebelius has balanced the Kansas budget three times and has made the largest investment in Kansas schools in ten years.

Maybe working together, Sebelius and Parkinson can rid Kansas of their state school board's right wing crazies.

And we can hope that this portends moderate Republicans deserting their party.
