Ursprache
Yesterday's winning word at the spelling bee was ursprache. It's a German word, not found in most English dictionaries, meaning the speech (sprache) of Ur. When it is used in English, it's often used in the same way "it's Greek to me" is used, e.g., "he might as well have been speaking ursprache for all I understood."
Question. Didn't we just have a vote to make English the official language of the United States?

Great catch! Those damned Germans are flooding the country and ruining it -- well, they once were anyway, and it's the principle that matters. Send them back, every one of them.
