Going after the wrong guy II

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. As much as I dislike Rumsfeld and his policies, I think it makes the Democrats look weak to try to pass a resolution calling for his dismissal. That's like saying everything would be okay if Rumsfeld just went away. It won't be okay. The culprit here is Cheney/Bush. Rumsfeld's replacement would be just as bad as Rumsfeld because he would be marching to the same drummer. Meanwhile, the Democrats look weak because they don't have the guts to stand up to the real culprits. They don't even have the guts to bring a motion of censure against Cheney/Bush.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A resolution demanding the resignation of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld after he compared Iraq war critics to Nazi appeasers has strong support among U.S. Senate Democrats, a senior Democrat said on Sunday.
