The new Mark Fuhrman
Anybody recall Mark Fuhrman from the O.J. Simpson trial? He was the cop who swore under oath that he had never used the "N" word, only to be proven a liar by one or more witnesses to his rants against blacks.
Look, anyone who says they have never used the "N" word, black or white, is almost certainly a liar. We've all used it. Some more than others. Some only to quote Mark Twain (remember "nigger" Jim), some to be deliberately insulting, but we've all used it. Further, many of us used the word badly in our youth, only to have learned better as we grew older. That can probably be forgiven.
But, for anyone to say they have never used the word at all is almost certainly a lie. Well, Senator George "Macawcaw" Allen has now joined Mark Fuhrman. He said he had never used the word, but now at least three college friends say he used it regularly.

Sept. 24, 2006 | WASHINGTON -- George AllenThree former college football teammates of Sen. George Allen say that the Virginia Republican repeatedly used an inflammatory racial epithet and demonstrated racist attitudes toward blacks during the early 1970s.Hopefully, Allen will fade into the woodwork just like Fuhrman.
"Allen said he came to Virginia because he wanted to play football in a place where 'blacks knew their place,'" said Dr. Ken Shelton, a white radiologist in North Carolina who played tight end for the University of Virginia football team when Allen was quarterback. "He used the N-word on a regular basis back then."

Good reminder, and good association.
