• President's approval: 36% down from 38% in August

• Among those aware of the Foley scandal, 2/3rds believe Republican leaders tried to cover it up

• Among those, 1/4 say they are less likely to vote Republican in November

• By 54% to 39%, responents favored Democrats over Republicans for Congress
