John Edwards to announce candidacy

I haven't blogged much about the 2008 presidential contest, largely because I think it's awfully early to be thinking about this. I certainly haven't picked a favorite among the probable Democratic contenders, and I probably won't for quite awhile. Nevertheless, I do think Edwards is a very attractive candidate. He wasn't given much of a chance to prove himself in Kerry's campaign. I think Kerry was afraid Edwards would outshine him. He's come around to the right side on the war, and he's very good on many of the bread and butter Democratic issues. So, I'm not displeased that apparently he's now in the race.
