Running water on Mars?

I couldn't let all the other news of the day drown out this report from NASA:

NASA photographs have revealed bright new deposits seen in two gullies on Mars that suggest water carried sediment through them sometime during the past seven years.

"These observations give the strongest evidence to date that water still flows occasionally on the surface of Mars," said Michael Meyer, lead scientist for NASA's Mars Exploration Program, Washington.

If there is still liquid water on Mars, there may be life there as well. This is pretty intriguing. Just suppose for a moment that we find life there in the next few years. What will that do to the religious right? Somehow, it doesn't seem to fit their view of the creation story very well, does it?
