Such an imposition
The Republicans in the House are whining about the horrific imposition a five day work week is on their lives:
Before the Dem's came in, the Republicans scheduled business from Tuesday afternoon till Thursday forenoon -- a two day work week. I have no sympathy. Yes, Congressmen do have to make it back to their home territories once in awhile, but so too do all those mid-level businessmen who work twelve hour days, often away from home. When did you hear any Rethuglican complain about how hard their lives were? Instead, they favored programs that forced those people to work even longer hours.
Tough nuggies, guys.
During a Friday morning debate on the floor of the House of Representatives, the Republican leadership complained that the five-day work week imposed by the new majority was unnecessary and created problems for Members of Congress. But House Democrats are holding firm and plan to continue the current schedule.
