Tim Johnson chairs subcommittee

Senator Tim Johnson has been named to chair the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs despite the fact that he remains in intensive care following his brain hemmorage. Does anyone know his prognosis? I suppose someone will stand in as interim chariman while he recovers. This may be the humane thing to do, so he doesn't lose out due to his illness, but is it really in the interest of moving things forward in the Senate. I just don't know.
