Government "loses" Padilla evidence

As Glenn Greenwald points out rather effectively, the government's "loss" of a critical video of Jose Padilla's interrogation torture is impossible to believe, particularly in light of the extreme claims of national security they have made about the case. As Greenwald says:

But where, as here, the issues extend far beyond the singular proceeding itself -- we are talking about claims by a U.S. citizen that he was tortured by his own government -- destruction of evidence of this sort would be obstruction of justice of the most serious magnitude. This merits much, much more attention.

The judge should order everyone in the chain of custody of the tapes to be jailed until it is produced.
