Israeli lobby pushes to give Bush more powers

Okay. Forget about putting any restraint on the Prez when it comes to Iran. The Israeli lobby doesn't want it, so we can't have it. From CQ, via TPM Cafe, via Matt Yglesias:

Hawkish pro-Israel lawmakers are pushing to strike a provision slated for the war spending bill that would, with some exceptions, require the president to seek congressional approval before using military force in Iran.

The influential American Israel Public Affairs Committee also is working to keep the language out, said an aide to a pro- Israel lawmaker.

You can bet the language will be gone before you can bat an eye.

You wonder sometimes if AIPAC isn't an anti-Israel front. They seemed bound and determined to undermine support by the American public for Israel.
