Quick item #1: US Atty quits to join defendant's law firm?
Should be grading papers, but this makes me crazy:
Crooks & Liars' Blog round up mentions--
Earlier TPM had suspected Yang left in anticipation of the firings of the other USAs. But doesn't this look awfully suspicious more as a legal "revolving door" matter? One of those embedded links suggests how unusual it is for a major law firm to pay a bonus to a new partner from the public sector. (Not that in Gonzalez' shop they really work for the "public", you understand.)
Crooks & Liars' Blog round up mentions--
former US attorney in Los Angeles Debra Wong Yang, who says she departed the US Attorney job of her own volition, and who until recently headed the office in charge of the investigation of former House appropriations committee chairman Jerry Lewis
(R-Ca), reportedly got a $1.5 million offer to join the firm representing Lewis.

It sure looks suspicious to me. Even if her motives were pure, what about those of her new law firm? Somehow, it reminds me a bit of Tonia Harding injuring Nancy Kerrigan so that Tonia could have the field to herself.
