The drip, drip, drip of slow death

The drip, drip, drip of American troop losses in Iraq continues. Five today, four or five yesterday, and more on Friday. Unfortunately, you become somewhat numb to these reports and don't notice the overall picture, but it looks as those the rate is markedly increasing. So far in March, there have been 65 deaths -- probably through yesterday. That's an average of over 3.8 per day. Several months ago, the average was around 2 per day, so the rate has almost doubled in recent months.

And, no end in sight.
