Habeas reincorpus

Okay, I know the "restore Habeas" bill passed the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday with all Democrats voting for it and all Republicans except Arlen Specter voting against. I wish that augered well for the bill's passage, but I'm afraid it doesn't. It looks like the Republicans will attempt to block it, and probably a number of Dems will join them (think Lieberman). Even if they fail, there's the potential veto from the prez. So, I doubt if this is going anywhere until 2009, if then. Meanwhile, you might think about moving to Canada or England if you want rights that civilized countries have guaranteed for almost a millenium.
