Omigod -- Now Petraeus says it's Northern Ireland

And I guess we need to do what it takes to solve it. So what is it, General, 50 years (Korea), 90 years (since the Easter Rebellion) or 400 years (since the founding of the Ulster plantation)?

General Petraeus might keep in mind that the English occuping army shared a Christian religion with both sides of the conflict -- with only the Pope as the theoretical difference, but with the same basic moral precepts about violence -- as well as the language. In Iraq, we have no idea what we are doing -- never did, and never will. What do we have, about 30 Americans there who can even read, much less speak, Arabic?
