Whose fault is it?

Everyone and their brother has noted that the word "filibuster" seems to have disappeared from the main stream media. Only a year ago, every time the Dems threatened to filibuster something, the Republicans went ballistic. Now that the Republicans are filibustering just about every bill the Dems bring up in the Senate, the press uses terms like "parliamentary procedure" instead of "filibuster" to describe it and often ignores the fact that the parliamentary procedure was used exclusively by the Thuglicans with headlines like "Senate blocks debate on XYZ bill."

Today, Josh Marshall says its the Dems fault, not the fault of the press. Perhaps he's right:

The Dems are idiots on this. Reporters should note it, yes. But it's not really their job.

But, you can bet that if the Dems did start complaining, the Thuglicans would accuse them of being weak-kneed whiners, and the press would pick up on this right in tune with the noise machine.
