Torture does not exist

Today Mukasey told Congress that whether a particular interrogation activity is torture or not is not determined by the act itself (e.g., waterboarding) but by how useful the potential information that might be gained is.

Ahh, I suppose that means that thumb screws, the rack, and other such instruments of interrogation are perfectly okay if the information is really important. Gee. It's hard to think of anything that might be torture under this scheme of things.

Torture does not exist. Therefore, America does not practice torture.

Oh, and I guess all these laws and treaties that forbid torture are meaningless, since torture does not exist.
