Today's press is an arm of the GOP, whether they have the guts to admit it or not

Once again, we let the GOP dictate through their press lackeys how the Clark statement will be framed.

The better response is,

What exactly was untruthful or wrong about what I (he) said. The idea that I (General Clark) was attacking McCain’s military service is absurd – a campaign talking point that some in the press have now adopted as their own. I (General Clark) said exactly the opposite.

This whole thing is ridiculous. I welcome an effort by the McCain campaign to identify what’s untruthful about it, or to show how it demeaned Senator McCain. Senator McCain may be offended by a perfectly truthful statement, but he’s shown himself to be easily offended.

Keep the triangulating spokespeople out of this. Note that it was not Obama himself who was being quoted as "rejecting" what Clark said, but a spokesperson. Did he have the blessing to use exactly that word? Obama defended Clark's intent today, saying perhaps the statement was "inartful." Well, OK, I suppose it was given the toxic pro-McCain, pro-GOP way of thinking that has enveloped the major media. It's a self-generating phenomenon: anything can be made "inartful" by the right-wing opoosition research army..

But what was untruthful about what Clark said? Tell us, please. Then, once again, sit down and shut the f--- up!
