Some people never learn

Along the route on my daily bike run, there's a house that in years past has sported many Republican political signs. It's owned by a white family, with a young tow head blond (redundant, I know) boy about two. Their cars bear SMU stickers, a Texas flag flies from the flagpole along with a banner reading, "Don't tread on me," the early post Colonial American flag, and the yard used to bristle with Republican banners and signs. This was particularly true in both George W. Bush elections, when there were Bush signs at every prominent place in the yard.

So, I've been mildly pleased that there had been no signs marring this family's yard this year. I even hoped that maybe, after eight years of the unmitigated disaster wrought by this White House, just maybe, this family had seen the light and changed their political views. Well, I guess there are some people that simply will never learn. The McCain/Palin sign appeared in their yard yesterday.

The good news .... this year (so far, anyway) there's only one sign in the yard. Maybe they are making some progress, but it sure is a slow learning process.
