Fitzmas Coming?

Last night we learned that Patrick Fitzgerald is presenting more evidence to the grand jury in the Plame case today. Apparently that has led to rampant speculation that he is about to indict someone, probably Karl Rove.

It certainly looks as though that's the direction he's moving. Remember, prosecutors don't present evidence to a grand jury in order exonerate someone. And, I would doubt that Fitzgerald would be proceeding this far if he really has much doubt about whether he will seek an indictment. So, I'm pretty sure another indictment (maybe more) is going to come down. I rather doubt it will be this week, but who knows?

All the evidence in the public domain seems to point to Rove as the target here, but it's a pretty fair inference that our torture VP was behind it all, and Dubya himself may also have been involved. Just how far Fitzgerald will reach is not clear. I'm guessing he will stop with Rove unless he can get Libby or Rove to turn.
