Let's go Experiment on New Orleans
Just finished watching Meet the Press. In the final segment, David Brooks was among the panelists, and Pumpkinhead asked him about the woeful lact of response of the Federal Government to the rebuilding of New Orleans. The short version of Brooks' reply is, "it's the fault of the residents because they don't want us to come down and experiment on them." It almost sounded reminiscent of the medical experiments we used to conduct on black prisoners without their knowledge. Of course, what he meant was that the New Orleans residents are reluctant to have their city turned into a utopia for conservative experiments in social policy -- e.g., school vochures instead of schools.
I'm going to ask Crooks and Liars to get up that segment on their website. If they do, I'll let you know.
