Canadian Elections

I can't let the day go by without at least mentioning the Canadian elections. What amazes me is how little press they got. Up till this morning, there hadn't been any coverage at all in the newspaper of record. Today, the outcome was published in a small piece at the bottom left corner of the front page, but you had to turn inside to find out the most important question -- whether the Conservatives has won a majority. They hadn't. From all the reports I hear, that means that the coalition government will be relatively weak and unable to push through many of the more extreme parts of the Conservative platform -- e.g., walking away from Kyoto.

I can't speak for my friends, the Canadians, but I don't trust anything that makes Bush happy, and everyone said he wanted the Conservatives to win in Canada.
