Clinton "Cover-up" conducted by Bush
Yesterday the headline was on the front page of the New York Times, above the fold. It read, "Inquiry on Clinton Official Ends with Accusations of Cover-up."
Today, buried on page 14 of the paper, we learn that the so-called "cover up" didn't occur during the Clinton years at all. It was John Ashcroft's Justice Department that refused to grant the special prosecutor, David Barrett, permission to expand his inquiries into the activities of Housing Secretary, Henry Cisneros. We also learn, not in the news, but on the editorial page of the Times, that when Barrett first presented his accusations of a cover-up to the three judge panel responsible for overseeing the activities of the special counsel, they refused to publish them, believing them to be baseless. Only later, when the Republicans needed cover for the Abramoff scandal, did the Judges reverse themselves.
Don't you just love the "liberal" New York Times? Why do they keep carrying water for this criminal administration?
